Rehab is the prescription of specifically tailored exercises after an injury site has been significantly improved. Once pain levels are reduced and movement function is attained it is vitally important to ‘rehab’ the affected area and associated areas to restore strength and flexibility.
When muscles are strengthened there is a reduced risk of re-injury, however, this needs to be done in a controlled manner to avoid further problems. The rehab process is very bespoke as different individuals will need tailored plans. However, the goal is the same…restore strength and flexibility post-injury.
